Here’s a scary story…
Just heard a really scary story from a person at the office. It’s every homeowner’s roofing and attic nightmare. But there’s a great ending to it, so hang in there!
One of our guys was at a person’s house to look at their roof. As part of the inspection, he went into the attic. Unexpectedly, the attic was full of mold due to inadequate ventilation.
Now, that’s bad enough, but here is the really scary part…
When he asked the homeowner if the family had experienced any health problems, they said that they had been sick “constantly” from the time they bought the house a couple of years earlier. In fact, the daughter had to go to the hospital for asthma.
The mold problem was not just destroying the house, but it was also destroying the family’s health.
The good part is…
We were able to improve the attic ventilation enough that the mold problem was stopped. With a little help, the mold was stopped and the family’s health improved dramatically.
Another side benefit: They saved on both their air conditioning costs as well, because the terrible heat that had been up there was removed with the improved ventilation.
Why didn’t any other roofer check out their attic? Think of the mistake they might have made.
